All About AED [Infographic]

This info-graphic titled ‘All about Automated External Defibrillator’ gives us an outline of the use and importance of AED devices in our daily lives. It is well known when heart function ceases abruptly and without warning, it causes Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Unlike a heart attack, sudden cardiac arrest is an electrical problem that creates an irregular heart rhythm, preventing the heart from pumping blood to all essential organs. It is the AEDs that are used immediately. These are portable, life-saving medical instruments designed to treat people experiencing a sudden cardiac attack. This system of AED includes accessories like a battery and pad electrodes, which is the basic necessity for AED to detect and interpret an electrocardiogram and deliver an electrical shock.
If an AED recognizes any kind of abnormal heart rhythm, it will charge and indicate that a shock is advised, usually communicated with a voice command. The benefit of the shock is correcting the abnormal electrical disturbance that causes the irregular heart rhythm and re-establishing a normal heart rhythm.
